Power Automate belongs to a group of products that form an extensive application development platform, that you can leverage to enhance every part of your business.

Power Automate Basics

This one day course is suitable for total newcomers to Power Automate. You will learn the key concepts of cloud automation and by the end of the day you will be able to build your own flows independently.

You will build useful flows that harness the low-code capabilities built into the platform.

We will briefly touch on some advanced topics so that you can explore that further.

Introduction to Power Automate

This course starts with an overview of Power Automate and examples of what can be achieved by using it.

  • What is Power Automate
  • Understanding the art of the possible
  • Important Key Concepts
  • Introduction to JSON.
Building Basic Flows

Once the key concepts have been understood, we will jump straight into building flows:

  • Understanding Triggers
  • Building actions based on Dynamic Content or data passed into the flow.
  • Basic branching and flow control.
Interactive Flows

Next we will move on to make our flows communicate with the outside world:

  • Sending automatic emails.
  • Sending approval requests and processing the responses.
  • Adding records to a list or database.
Expressions

The final part of the day will focus on expressions. Expressions are the key to unlocking the true potential that Power Automate has to offer.

  • Deep dive into JSON, which is at the core of Power Automate.
  • Understanding variables and when to use them.
  • How to works with loops and branches.
  • How to avoid loops for greater flow performance.

  • How to work with SharePoint Document Libraries and lists.
  • How to work with Microsoft Dataverse
  • Use the Web APIs for greater flexibility and performance.
  • Introduction to the Microsoft Graph API
Document Generation
  • How to dynamically generate Word documents and PDF files.
  • How to read and write data to and from Excel files.
  • Interacting with 3rd party services and connectors.
  • How to create adaptive Cards and actionable emails
Advanced Expressions

Throughout this course you will be making more extensive use of expressions as you begin to discover that the expression language opens up more possibilities. The expression language is key to building flexible and Powerful Flows.

This two day course will build on the concepts introduced in the basics course and after you have completed it you will be capable of building advanced automations that can totally revolutionise your business.
